Uniform Day The inaugural Staff Uniform Day in March attracted wide participation of staff members across all demographics and campuses. ALUMNI RELATIONS OFFICE The Alumni Relations Office continues to connect Alumni to the University connect Alumni to each other, and connect Alumni to the current student body. Connecting Alumni to the University During the period, the reach and engagement between the University and its Alumni and student constituents were significantly expanded through a variety of social media and in-person options Social Media Our Social Media engagement experienced increases in membership/viewership across all Social Media platforms, ranging from 4% - 206%, with the highest engagement reflected on Facebook, Twitter, and LinkedIn. In-person Opportunities The in-person options for connecting alumni to the university were many and varied. o Alumni related Walk-in/Phone/Internet Customer Service contacts o Alumni volunteers serving in University & Alumni Events o Alumni Association Membership Applications processed o Recruitment assistance requests from corporate/ private/public sector organizations shared with the Alumni Community o The Alumni Relations Office supported the Division of Student Services & Registry with graduation preparation for the Class of 2015/16. The Office contributed Alumni Association, UTech membership applications forms, and alumni tokens, for the graduation packages. The Alumni Relations Manager addressed the graduates to sensitize them to the benefits of remaining connected to the University after graduation. o Alumni were offered a variety of personal and professional development options through which to connect to the University such as: Alumni booth representation in conjunction with the Marketing Department at the Denbigh Agricultural Show 2015 Orientation Week 2015. Personal & Professional Development Workshops, Socials, Networking Events, Job Search and Career Management Consultations. Support was provided to the alumni affiliates e.g. Alumni Association, Chapters and Special Interest Groups and faculties, by promoting their events to the alumni community and connecting alumni with the affiliates to increase engagement. Connecting Alumni to Each Other Alumni engagement with their fellow alumni was facilitated as follows: • Hosted a networking event with theme “How to Start a Small Business in Jamaica,” to promote networking among alumni for personal, professional and businesses development. The guest presenter was also an Alumnus – Mr. Colin Coley, Senior Business Development Advisor, Jamaica Business
