future of legal education in the region. “Deciphering Decriminalization” Mr. Alfred McPherson, Dean, participated in Medical Marijuana Integration Day hosted by the College of Health Science on Thursday, May 14, 2015. Mr. McPherson spoke on the topic “Deciphering Decriminalization”. His presentation was published in the Sunday Gleaner of May 17, 2015. Human Rights Public Forum The Faculty of Law in collaboration with the British Council hosted a Human Rights Public Forum on October 29, 2015 at the Papine campus. The topic for discussion was “Human Rights and I: A Conversation with Leading Voices”. Guest Speakers were: • Arlene Harrison Henry, Public Defender • Paula Llewellyn, Director of Public Prosecutions • Horace Levy, Human Rights Advocate The Forum was moderated by Mr. Harold Malcolm, Programme Director, FOL, and Rights Awareness Programme (RAP) Human Rights Consultant. Debate on Open Forum by Caribbean Court of Justice vs. Privy Council The Jamaican Association for Debating and Empowerment Limited (JADE) partnered with the Faculty of Law, UTech, Ja. to host a national Quasi-British Parliamentary Debate and Public Forum on Thursday, June 4, 2015.
