Moot Competition Three students from the Faculty Lanique Curniffe, Sherona Hall and Dellisha Sterling participated in the Caribbean Court of Justice Mooting Competition held from March 10-11, 2016 in Port of Spain, Trinidad. The students were accompanied by Mr. Alfred McPherson, Dean and Mr. Harold Malcolm, Programme Director. The UTech, Jamaica team placed third in the competition. Faculty Awards Ceremony The Faculty of Law Awards ceremony was held on Wednesday, April 8, 2015 at the Terra Nova All Suite Hotel under the theme “Aligned for Excellence… Equipped for Service”. The guest speaker was Mr. Donovan Walker, President of the Jamaican Bar Association. Students from the Papine and Western Campuses received awards for academic excellence. The Students of the Year for 2015 were Jason Chockelal (Western Campus) and Ann-Marie Moore (Papine Campus). Legal Advice Centre The Legal Advice Centre, under the guidance of Prof. Kent Pantry, continues to provide advice to members of staff of the University, as well as members of the community on Mondays, Wednesday, and Fridays from 1:30 p.m. – 4:00 p.m. The services are provided free of cost.
