Accompanying Lecturers were Naheel Brown Legister and Andre Waugh. y y A group of 14 students organized and officiated the Shortwood Practicing sports day held on March 22, 2016. Accompanying lecturer was Naheel Brown Legister. y y A group of 4 students assisted in judging cheerleading at Ascot High School on March 22, 2016. y y Students volunteered at the first staging of the UTECH Connect project in August Town held on March 22, 2016. y y Approximately 20 students assisted with the Inter-collegiate championship held on March 20, 2016. y y Ten students assisted with the Annual Police Championships held at the Elliston Road Police Station. y y Students volunteered for the Jamaica Olympic Association’s Olympic Day 5k walk/run on June 25, 2016 y y Students volunteered for the Gibson McCook Relays and Melbourne 5K held on March 5 and 12, 2017 respectively y y Nineteen students participated in the class field trips for Sport Facilities module and visited the Independence Park Limited and Sabina Park on March 15, 2017. The school hosted its first Annual Sports Summer Camp held for one month on July 4 to 28, 2017. The camp was a success for the school, as it catered to the needs of children ages 4 to 16 and provided them with the basic knowledge and skills in all sporting activities which ranges from netball, swimming, basketball, tennis, football, cricket and track and field on UTech, Ja. Papine Campus. FOSS CAPE Workshop As an annual event, the Faculty of Science and Sport hosts CAPE students through a series of experiment exercises which are designed to: 1) Provide the CAPE candidates with advanced, hands-on laboratory experiences in physics, chemistry and biology (not available at secondary schools); Dr. Andrew Lamm conducting laboratory experiments with secondary school students at an INVOCAB summer camp in Manchester. High school CAPE students engaged in chemistry experiments
