VOICES highlights the University’s major achievements and developments in scholarship, research, outreach, the arts and in sport. The magazine is available on the University’s Website and in limited print copy to alumni, members of Council, institutional partners, national libraries, tertiary institution heads, Ministers of Government and other key stakeholders. University Website  The Corporate Communications Unit continues to coordinate content updates with content owners/liaisons across colleges and faculties through the Website Content Management System (CMS).  The Corporate Communications Unit maintains currency of news and events platforms on the Home Page of the Website. “UTech, Jamaica Experts” The “UTech, Jamaica Experts” database stood at 37 during the reporting period. Our experts continue to be highly utilized by editors and writers seeking expert opinion from the University on various national issues. Twenty- Five (25) television and radio interviews were arranged with UTech, Jamaica Experts during the period. Among the matters discussed were research initiatives, developments and events in sports, medical marijuana licence, student financing and various conferences being hosted by Colleges and Faculties. Communication and Protocol Support  Events management, communication and protocol support services were provided for over 52 University events.  The Corporate Communications Unit prepared and disseminated a steady flow of information on developments at the University, in the form of news releases, press advisories, press invitations, captioned photographs and advertorials. Approximately 70% of 60 issued news items were published in the press, used in news casts or published online.  Three advertorial newspaper features highlighting academic excellence, service, research, student, faculty and staff achievements were produced and published in The Gleaner and the Jamaica Observer.  61 speeches and messages were prepared for delivery by President, Deputy President and other senior University Officers during the reporting period. MARKETING JMA EXPO – April 14-17, 2016 The University of Technology, Jamaica achieved good exposure at the 2016 staging of the Jamaica Positive Newspaper exposure.
