University of Technology, Jamaica ANNUAL REPORT 2016-2017 Page 71 Excellence Through Knowledge The Faculty of Engineering and Computing in preparation for the celebration of its 60th anniversary in 2018 has been focusing on revealing its competence beyond industrial experience by providing our students with a more industrial “class environment” to enhance leadership, innovation and entrepreneurship. The focus on standardising the programme offerings at the undergraduate and graduate levels and facilities, including computer and industrial laboratories, to meet international standards will boost customer satisfaction (students, staff and other stakeholders). NEW ACADEMIC PROGRAMMES School of Computing and Information Tech- nology (SCIT) SCIT Launches MSc Information Systems Management programme (MSc. ISM) at Western Campus In August 2016, SCIT piloted its MSc Information Systems Management programme at the Dome Street Campus. The first cohort of students in the programme comprised young business leaders, educators and start-up business consultants from the western region. UNEP-funded Graduate programme UNEP, through its Regional Office based in Panama, has funded the development of a Master of Science in Waste Management for the Latin America and Caribbean regions through a consortium of Seven Universities: Universidad Autonoma del Estado De Morelos (UAEM), Pontificia Universidad Catolica de Valparaiso (PUCV), Universidad de los Andes (ULA), Universidad Nacional Autonoma de Mexico (UNAM), Universidad de Ciencias Aplicadas y Ambientales (UDCA), Universidad ISALUD, University of West Indies (UWI) and University of Technology, Jamaica. This degree programme will be launched in 2018.
