Jared is working on an applied capstone project with respect of the use of Information Technology in organic farming. The period of the research runs from September 12 th to December 12 th , 2016. The student was co-supervised by Mrs. Charmaine DeLisser and Dr. Sean Thorpe, along with SMU Professor, Dr Dawn Jutla. Jared was the third Canadian student to visit under the Canadian Queen Elizabeth II Diamond Jubilee scholarship programme since 2015. Facility Development There is now a designated FENC Graduate Programme Office located at the Montego Campus, Dome Street. Inaugural internship fair The School of Computing & Information Technology (SCIT) in association with the Jamaica Computer Society (JCS) hosted the SCIT Inaugural Internship Fair on Thursday October 13, 2016 at the Alfred Sangster Auditorium. Over 100 students and representatives from 10 companies were in attendance. There was also overwhelming support of the event from the FENC staff. It was the University’s first ever Internship Fair. Participants in the three-day Data Science workshop February 17 -20, 2017 at UTECH with Data Society LLC partners, SCIT undergraduate and graduate students, and academic staff.
