Outreach The 17th Annual Teach the Youth student outreach programme was held in July 2017. This flagship programme seeks to inspire youth between the ages of 6 and 18 from communities such as Kintyre, Tavern, August Town, Highlight View and Sandy Park to be the change they wish to see in their communities. The programme involves academic intervention, motivational sessions, leadership development, mentoring and social events. Over 200 students from UTech, Jamaica and the National Youth Service summer employment programme volunteered their services for the three-week programme which ran from Students’ Union Handing Over Ceremony The Students’ Union Council held its annual “changing of the guards” for student leadership at its Handing Over Ceremony held on April 13, 2017 at the Student Activity Centre.
