University of Technology, Jamaica “Pioneering Past; Bright Future ” ANNUAL REPORT 2017-2018 73 of Pharmacists, Pharmacist of the Year 2017. • Dr. Sean Moncrieffe, Senior Lecturer, School of Pharmacy was awarded the Pharmacist Primus 2017 at the Pharmaceutical Society of Jamaica, 5th Annual Induction & Awards Ceremony • Dr. Marcia Williams, Programme Director, Bachelor of Science in Pharmaceutical Technology was awarded the Jamaica Distinguished Pharmacy Researcher award by the Pharmaceutical Society of Jamaica • Dr Lisa Bromfield, Programme Director, Doctor of Pharmacy, was presented with the Grace Allen Young’s award for Outstanding Exemplar of Integrity of Profession by the Soroptimist International Jamaica, Kingston Club. Nursing and Midwifery Conference A wide cross-section of the nursing and midwifery community attended the 3rd Biennial Nursing and Midwifery conference hosted by the Caribbean School of Nursing, College of Health Sciences from August 10 to 11, 2017 at the Knutsford Hotel in Kingston. The conference was held under the theme, “Conquering new frontiers in health care delivery through Nursing and Midwifer y Research” and highlighted the importance of research in influencing practice and policy in the nursing and midwifery professions. The Conference comprised five scientific sessions which highlighted current research and examined a breadth of issues in nursing care, nursing education and their potential impact on the health sector. Community Service • Student s f rom the Caribbean School of Nursing in Montego Bay collaborated with the Jamaica Public Service on Labour Day projects which included painting of a police station in the community. • Students in Montego Bay B.Sc. Nursing and Midwifery students who were admitted to the Dean’s List pose with their special awards received at the 7th annual Striping Ceremony hosted by the College of Health Sciences on February 8, 2018.
